Gilbert Stephen Bent

Gilbert Bent is a writer, entrepreneur and family man originally from Jamaica, West Indies. He has a bachelor’s degree in Business Management & Finance from Brooklyn College. During school, Gilbert found a passion for advocating for individuals with developmental disabilities (a sector of our vulnerable population.

After graduation, Gilbert embarked upon a career as a Residential Administrator in charge of all residential operations and the well-being of individuals with developmental disabilities throughout his agency. Gilbert’s life struggles inspired him to start writing as a form of therapy. He then thought his life story, failures and victories would be therapy for other young men trying to find themselves and their place in life. Gilbert currently resides in Brooklyn, New York. Boy; Men Don’t Cry is his first novel.
